Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art L sku-13292855451

This 16" x 20" historic print shows Woodrow Wilson seated on a porch as several men standing around him congratulate him on his election to the presidency. It is Black Wall Art from Snapshots of the Past, size L, SKU sku-13292855451, UPC 463900083205. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives for home decor.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced posters possible. In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995. That program digitizes selected Library collections focused on the complex history of American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks; prints made with these materials can last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. The company's other subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

Its retro-style posters can be displayed at home or at work and given as gifts.
