Snapshots of the Past Wall Art sku-13269813786, UPC 462621301766, is a Black, size L historic print showing a carriage carried by eight people for a noble or wealthy man in China. It measures 16" x 20". The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing American cultural history.

The company also offers retro posters, including holiday designs and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts.
