No rating yet(0 ratings)This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print shows a half-length portrait of a woman standing, facing front, brushing her hair while wearing a corset. It is a Black, size L reproduction measuring 16 x 20 inches. The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives.
Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to sell reproductions of Library of Congress images as fine-art prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced posters possible.
The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The print uses archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.
The company's collection also includes holiday posters and early aerial views of cities for display at home or work, or as gifts. SKU sku-13273068408; UPC 463050008165.
