The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. The source also notes that lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

A 1989 Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The company's range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

The source suggests these retro-style prints for homes, studies, workplaces and gifts.
