Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L, sku-13635158876 print

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13635158876, UPC 464841250862, is a Black print in size L. The 16" x 20" image depicts the U.S. Army Punitive Expedition after Villa at Colonia Dublan, Mexico, in 1916, with supplies being unloaded at American headquarters from a Mexican train that came from Juarez.

The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

The company's range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, offered for display or as gifts.
