Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13277203360

Snapshots of the Past sku-13277203360 is Black Wall Art in size L, UPC 469005518284. This 16" x 20" historic print reproduces two photographic portraits: 1. a half-length portrait facing left; 2. a head-and-shoulders portrait with her mother. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections focused on American cultural history. The brand also offers historical posters, including holiday designs and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display or gifts.
