Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13209172834

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, is a 16" x 20" historic print of City Hall in Richmond, Virginia. SKU sku-13209172834; UPC 469316420870. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. It was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. The company was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced posters possible.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history. These reproductions use fine-art and archival papers; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down.

The range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
