The print measures 16" x 20"; its listed color is Black and its listed size is L. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives on archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online buyers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program begun in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

Archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to preserve the prints for generations. The company's range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. UPC: 468785894335. SKU: sku-13257070544.
