Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13246761560

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, color Black, SKU sku-13246761560, UPC 468726930665. This 16-by-20-inch historic print reproduces Herbert Paus’s “To make the world a decent place to live in do your part - buy U.S. government bonds Third Liberty Loan.” The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography was invented in 1796; the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural heritage. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The company also offers retro posters, including holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display or gifts.
