No rating yet(0 ratings)This Black, size L Wall Art print from Snapshots of the Past (sku-13626417237; UPC 468334681515) reproduces a historical image restored from the Library of Congress archives. Its subjects are [1] Professor J. Thomson, Sr.; [2] Lord Kelvin (William Thomson, Baron Kelvin, 1824-1907) in 1891; [3] Professor James Thomson, Lord Kelvin's brother; and [4] Dr. James T. Bottomley.
The print is 16" x 20" and uses archival paper and pigmented inks. Snapshots of the Past was founded in 2001 and was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers.
The company was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.
The brand also offers historical maps, photos and posters, including holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display or as gifts.
