Snapshots of the Past Black L Wall Art sku-13267919985

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13267919985 (UPC 465307607985), is a Black, size L reproduction print titled The Union line before Petersburg, measuring 16" x 20". The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of Internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced posters possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

These reproductions use fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks and are intended to last for generations. The range includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts.
