Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13303805284 Print

Snapshots of the Past offers this Black, size L Wall Art reproduction, SKU sku-13303805284, UPC 461089612131. The 16" x 20" print is titled “The too confiding South drafting terms of peace with the Federal Government (see Richmond Papers, July 6, 7, 8).” The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for home display.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of poster prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections documenting American cultural history. These reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts.
