Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13444069844

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, Black, sku-13444069844, UPC 464907869373, is an 18" x 24" historic print of the Tampa Bay Hotel, now the University of Tampa, in Tampa, Florida. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

The source also notes that lithography was invented in 1796; a Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; the source says prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down.
