No rating yet(0 ratings)Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13648562660, UPC 463398987825, is a Black, size L reproduction print. The title describes a 16" x 20" historic print of an accident on the Mississippi Central Railroad, from a sketch by Mr. Montgomery Meigs, and names Lieut.-Commander W.L. Stewart, Commander E.H. Williams and a further Lieut. Commander in its truncated text.
The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers.
It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. The source notes that lithography was invented in 1796 and that the Library of Congress American Memory pilot began in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history.
The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts.
