No rating yet(0 ratings)This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print depicts The hairdresser making a call, Japan, at 16" x 20". It is a Black, size L reproduction of an archival image, printed on fine-art archival paper with pigmented inks for long-term display. UPC: 461085122290. SKU: sku-13254251954. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. The company's reproductions draw on historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections concerned with the complexity of American cultural heritage. The archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to let the prints be enjoyed for a lifetime and passed down through generations. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, as well as early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts.
