Snapshots of the Past Wall Art sku-13280213066, UPC 469397274621, is a Black print in size L showing a tank used as a sightseeing car in the French alpine country. The historic print measures 16 x 20 inches. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. The company was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, begun in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The company's retro-style prints can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts.
