This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print depicts Stockton Street looking north from Market Street in San Francisco. It measures 16" x 20" and is listed in Black, size L, as sku-13261305903 (UPC 467881675060). The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project, which laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

These reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The company's range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, along with early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The prints can be displayed at home or at work and given as gifts.
