This Snapshots of the Past historic print is E.B. Weitzel, F.B., Eastern, '21, sized 16 x 20 inches. It is Black, size L Wall Art (SKU sku-13273000170; UPC 467659627758). Snapshots of the Past makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, the company says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural heritage.

Archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to help the prints last for generations. The seller also suggests displaying historical holiday posters or early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco at home or work, or giving retro-style prints as gifts.
