Snapshots of the Past sku-13293055224 is a Black, size L Wall Art reproduction print, 16" x 20", showing buyers waiting to inspect a model of a $7,990 two-bedroom house being mass-produced on Long Island, N.Y., in early 1949. UPC: 467260715806.

The company's reproductions include historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives and are made with archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. The listing also notes that lithography was invented in 1796 and helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural heritage. The company's range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, offered as home or workplace decor and gifts.
