The company, founded in 2001, makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks.

It says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints, has sold to over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of online customers, and was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, suitable for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts.
