Snapshots of the Past Historic Wall Art L sku-13242263814

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art in size L is a 16 x 20 historic reproduction print showing Anne P. Cahall, sponsor of the U.S.S. Delaware, at its launch on Feb. 6, 1909, in Newport News, VA. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections about American cultural heritage.

The company's retro prints also include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco; they can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts. SKU sku-13242263814; UPC 463511090067.
