Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13288053616

This Black, size L Wall Art print from Snapshots of the Past (sku-13288053616, UPC 465071256167) reproduces a rendering of a vernacular residence in Sarasota, Florida. It measures 16 x 20 inches. The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from the Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

The prints use archival paper and pigmented inks, intended to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. In 1989, the Library of Congress began the American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995.

That program digitizes selected collections focused on the complexity of American cultural heritage. The range also includes retro holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, suitable for display at home, in a study or at work, or for giving as gifts.
