The company's reproductions draw on Library of Congress archives and include historical maps, photographs and prints.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections focused on American cultural heritage.

The prints use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The range also includes retro posters, holiday images and early aerial views of cities for display at home or work or as gifts. SKU: sku-13244702088. UPC: 469922493268.
