Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13291957909

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13291957909, UPC 461627241908, is a Black print in size L. The 16 x 20 inch image shows the Provost Guard at the headquarters of the 6th Army Corps near Hazel River, Virginia, in 1864. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, developed in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. A 1989 Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. These prints are offered for display at home or work and as gifts.
