The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives as home decor. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers.

It was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The company's other subjects include vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco; it suggests displaying them at home, in a study or at work, or giving them as gifts.
