No rating yet(0 ratings)Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, Black, sku-13648970784, UPC 462785645041. This 16 x 20 historic print depicts Private Clarence E. Muse of Philadelphia playing a banjo, identified in the title as a guitar, for fellow soldier trainees at a reception center. The company makes reproductions of Library of Congress maps, photos and prints using archival paper and pigmented inks.
Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.
The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; the National Digital Library Program began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural history. The archival prints are intended to last for generations.
The range also includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
