Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, depicts the Masonic and Odd Fellows Hall in San José, Santa Clara County. The historic print measures 16 x 20 inches; its identifiers are sku-13241504203 and UPC 467682328660. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, a technique that enabled inexpensive mass production of prints, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

These reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks and are intended to last for generations. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The prints can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
