No rating yet(0 ratings)Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L (sku-13257070322; UPC 463476060143), is a 16" x 20" historic print of Blandford church and graveyard in Petersburg, Virginia. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.
Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of poster prints.
The Library of Congress's 1989 American Memory pilot project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerned with the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper from respected brands, along with pigmented inks.
They are made to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. The range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Retro-style posters can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
