Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13260905092 Print

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13260905092, UPC 461541003392, is a Black, size L reproduction print titled 'Petersburg Va. Detachment of 3d Indiana Cavalry,' measuring 16" x 20". The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives using fine-art and archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, plus tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography was invented in 1796, enabling inexpensive mass-produced prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history. The company's other prints include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

They are offered as decor for a home, study or workplace or as gifts.
