Snapshots of the Past Print Wall Art L sku-13291160483

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, is a 16" x 20" reproduction showing a woman beside her salvaged household effects during the Flood of 1911 in Austin, Pa. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history. The reproductions use archival paper from established fine-art paper brands and pigmented inks, materials intended to last for generations.

The range includes vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of cities, suitable for display at home or work or as gifts. UPC 463412431730; SKU sku-13291160483.
