This Snapshots of the Past reproduction print depicts Bessemer Steelworks, Pittsburg Div., at 16" x 20". It is listed as Black, size L, under Wall Art, with SKU sku-13208566814 and UPC 468218237333. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The company's other prints include holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
