Snapshots of the Past Historic Wall Art L sku-13215451611

This Snapshots of the Past historic print shows a view north from the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. It measures 16" x 20" and is listed as Black Wall Art in size L. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives on fine art and archival paper; its prints use pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

The company's historical prints include holiday posters and early aerial views of cities and can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts. SKU: sku-13215451611. UPC: 467746008682.
