This Snapshots of the Past Black L Wall Art print, sku-13243114067 and UPC 469672934486, depicts Newport News Ship Building Co.'s yards in Virginia. The historic reproduction measures 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

The company also describes the development of inexpensive mass-produced poster prints through techniques such as lithography, invented in 1796. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural history.

Other prints in the range include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. They can be displayed at home or at work or given as gifts.
