Snapshots of the Past Black L Wall Art sku-13343505669

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13343505669, UPC 467180239383, is listed in Black and size L. This print reproduces a 1911 photo of a St Louis, MO, high school at 7" wide by 36" long. The company's reproductions draw on Library of Congress archives and use archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. A 1989 Library of Congress pilot called American Memory laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history.

The company's range also includes historical maps, photos, vintage posters and early aerial views of cities; the prints are intended for display or giving as gifts.
