Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13273971672

This Snapshots of the Past historic print shows Mission Santa Cruz at Emmet & School Streets in Santa Cruz County, CA. The title specifies 2 and a 16" x 20" size. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for reproduction as home decor.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers; it was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks, intended to last for generations.

The range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts. Listed as Black, size L, in Wall Art; SKU sku-13273971672, UPC 465330487011.
