Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13242813956

This Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art print, size L, reproduces an informal picture of Massachusetts Congressman John W. McCormick in Washington, D.C., dated June 3. It measures 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks for its reproductions.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints affordable.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; the National Digital Library Program followed in 1995 to digitize selected collections of American cultural history. The company's range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. SKU: sku-13242813956. UPC: 466157728844.
