Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13276652213

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, is a Black 16 x 20 print titled “Mars. Infortuna minor. Rolf Schott.” The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796, enabling inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; the National Digital Library Program followed in 1995 to digitize selected collections focused on American cultural history. The prints use archival paper and pigmented inks. The range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. SKU: sku-13276652213.
