Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13208516846

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13208516846 (UPC 467646573105), is a Black, size L reproduction print titled Looking toward Mt. Washington from Gray's Inn, Jackson, White Mountains. It measures 16" x 20". The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives on archival paper with pigmented inks, intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural heritage. The company's retro-style prints also include holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts.
