Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art Print sku-13292305643

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art is a Black, size L reproduction print measuring 16" x 20". It depicts the livery stable and Lake Tahoe Stage Office of J.M. Benton at Third and Carson Streets in Carson City, Nevada. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for home decor.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. These reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last a lifetime and be passed down.

The collection includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, plus early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The retro-style posters can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts. SKU: sku-13292305643. UPC: 464914211301.
