Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, a technique that helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible, was invented in 1796. A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The company's other prints include old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. UPC 464819248846; SKU sku-13261260192.
