This Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art print, size L and sku-13244858889, reproduces a historical image of J.M. Ward seated in a study at 16" x 20". UPC: 467669870373. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks for its reproductions.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; the National Digital Library Program followed in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural history. The company's range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
