Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13234959152

Snapshots of the Past sku-13234959152 is a Black, size L Wall Art reproduction print titled Historic Print, J.M. Levy, 16" x 20". UPC: 469204190267. The company makes historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts.
