Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of Internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of posters possible.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989. That project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and works to digitize selected collections emphasizing the complex history of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use respected brands of fine art and archival paper.

Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, along with some of the earliest aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Retro-style posters can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
