Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13648970730 Print

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art sku-13648970730 is a Black, size L historical print, 16" x 20"; UPC 464073864615. Its title identifies Cyrus H.K. Curtis and Mrs. Curtis aboard the yacht Lydonia, anchored off Haines [i.e. Hains] Point, as host and hostess to President and Mrs. Coolidge.

The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

It reports buyers including over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers, and says it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The seller suggests historical posters, including holiday designs and early aerial city views, as decor or gifts.
