This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print depicts a high school workshop and measures 16" x 20". The listing identifies it as Black, size L (SKU sku-13268319993; UPC 462410811223). The company makes historical maps, photos and prints as home decor, reproducing images restored from the Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make posters inexpensive to mass-produce.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, begun in 1995, which digitizes selected collections about American cultural history. These reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts.
