Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13228419012 Print

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13228419012, UPC 462565862316, is a Black, size L reproduction print titled Mrs. Rachel Foster Avery, measuring 16 x 20 inches. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage. The company's other subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
