Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13292757278 Black

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art (Black, size L; sku-13292757278; UPC 462198971546) is a 16" x 20" reproduction of Helen Keller reading Mrs. Calvin Coolidge's lips with her hand. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions on fine-art archival paper with pigmented inks, intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history.

The company's range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for home or workplace display or gifts.
