Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L 1849 sku-13276903066

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13276903066, is a Black, size L reproduction of the Grand Presidential sweep-stakes for 1849. The print measures 16 x 20. UPC: 465221544847. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and helped make inexpensive, mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last for generations. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and retro-style posters for homes or workplaces.
