Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, is a Black 16" x 20" reproduction of the plan and elevations for the Goar residence project in Sarasota, Florida. SKU: sku-13303905038. UPC: 463455514292. The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from the Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography, a printing method that enabled inexpensive mass production of posters, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations. The collection includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work, or as gifts.
