Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13277108266 Print

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art (sku-13277108266; UPC 465697215104) is a Black, size L historic print of Francois I, King of France, 1494-1547, measuring 16 x 20 inches. The company reproduces maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives on archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, a technique that enabled inexpensive mass printing, was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; the National Digital Library Program followed in 1995 to digitize selected collections about American cultural history. The seller also offers vintage holiday posters and early aerial city views.
